Today, I shall teach you how to inbed a link. This is very simple, so pay close attention. First of all, you need to copy your link. I will be using a link to the glorious master piece know as flOw(It was a student's thesis on flow in games).
[glow=red,2,300]http://intihuatani.usc.edu/cloud/flowing/[/glow]
That is the link is plain text. It is rather ugly, and it can be broken very easily, say, if you type next to it. I suggest against using plain links, they suck, they're ugly, they're noobish.
In order to understand how to make this:
intihuatani.usc.edu/cloud/flowing/
look like this
flOw
you need to know a bit about BBCode. It is very simple, so pay attention.
BBCode is split into two section, the Starter, and the Ender. The starter is the simpler part, and is put before any text you want affected by the BBCode. It will look something like this:
That code right there will increase the size of the text.
The Ender looks like this
Notice the slash? That tells the forum that you are ending the code.
Okay, in order to make you link lok all pretty, you have to use the url code. It looks a little like this;
That eqauls sine should seem familiar. It is telling the computer something very specific. Try plugging in your url between the = and ]
Now, if you preview it, there will be no link at all! Quite a curious thing, nay? Well, that is because there is nothing between the starter and ender! Try typing the name of the website you linking between the header and the ender.
Hoo Ra!
flOw
If you're still having trouble, look at the code.
Thus ends my guide to making links not noobish.
